The 2008 Brenda Clouten Memorial Travelling Scholarship for a Young Achiever in Visual Arts $3000
This scholarship was established in 2005 to support a young achiever in the Visual Arts (under the age of 25) who is a student at a Tertiary education institution in the Lower Hunter (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, Cessnock and Singleton) to travel, study, view and gain a greater understanding of the visual arts in an international context.

	regional conversations 18 - 22 august 2008 MRAG will run a series of "conversations" with the people of Maitland during 5 days in August (18 - 22). The conversations will be hosted by the Director Joe Eisenberg OAM, and facilitated by consultant Dr Barbara Piscitelli AM. Participants will include: young people, children, young parents, teachers/educators, training college staff, artists, seniors, persons with a disability, Indigenous residents and local councillors. click here for more info
	nuno felting workshop SOLD OUT date saturday 30 august 2008 place at the senior citizens hall, maitland adjacent to maitland town hall, the car park is accessed via grant st. time 10.00am - 4.00pm who some experience with felting preferred cost $45.00 members \| $55.00 non members (to be paid at time of booking) plus up to $30.00 fee for wool to be paid to the tutor on the day of the workshop. click here for more info

the bulldozers have arrived!! the art gallery is now CLOSED to the public for extensions to begin . the gallery will re-open early next year with more gallery spaces and a cafe. We are still running workshops and activities at other locations during the closure. keep an eye on the website for updates and phone the gallery on (02) 4934 9859 for bookings.
