Time Capture is a reflection and celebration of the diversity of women in Maitland, it was filmed on location in 2008 and is embedded within the newly built fabric of Maitland Regional Art Gallery.  A filmic memory, Time Capture will slowly reveal the lives of 100 Maitland women until the year 2034. Lara O'Reilly

Maitland eagerly awaited the opening of Lara O’Reilly’s Time Capture. This work has been a year in the making, and was unveiled on Saturday 19 September by Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO Governor Of New South Wales.

The art work is a silent visual display running on random for a forecast twenty five years. Each of the participants are featured and the work will be displayed at random times. The work runs at a mesmerizing relaxing speed which is quite addictive. Lara wanted to capture Maitland’s female population and show it to future generations. For those participants who are still in Maitland as the years go by, they will marvel at how young they once were. For visitors now, it shows a great variant in what Maitland women look like. For future visitors it is hoped they will enjoy such an extravagant artistic history lesson.

Time Capture was made possible by funding from the Coal and Allied Community Development Fund as part of its long term commitment to projects in the Hunter Valley.
