Arts Health

Innovative and inclusive programs to keep audiences connected with art and each other

We present a variety of Arts Health programs to foster creativity, enable inclusion, and promote knowledge among the Maitland community. Our social and cultural approach provides a meaningful way for participants to connect with others, particularly during periods of isolation. Innovative approaches that maintain communication and relationships are vital to ensure ongoing connection with communities.

Culture Dose For Kids

Engagement with the arts can help young people connect to their feelings, thoughts and imagination. It can build self-confidence and resilience, foster social connections and improve mental health and wellbeing.

This free program will provide a safe, structured space for young people and their parents/carers to engage with and respond creatively to curated artworks in a small group setting.

Led by Artist/Educators Liss and Vanessa, the program will be held from 2pm to 4pm over eight weeks starting 10 February to the 6th of April*.  A program for the children’s parents and caregivers will also run at the same time . All art materials, resources and morning tea will be provided.

Culture Dose for Kids is part of a research study program in collaboration between the Art Gallery of NSW and the Black Dog Institute and is funded by the Jibb Foundation.

Applications have closed and places in the Culture Dose For Kids program  have been filled

*March 30 is Easter weekend and we will not be holding a workshop on this date
